The commission we charge on debts collected is as per the below Commission Rate Table.
The percentage charged is set on the debt amount you hand to us to collect.
Vic Collect do not accept disputed debts. Please note that an inability for a debtor to pay because of financial constraints, is not classified as a disputed debt.
Example 1
We collect a $2,500 debt for you. You are charged 15% commission.
Example 2
If you hand us a $1,500 debt and for some reason we can only recover $900, you are charged 15% commission on the $900 amount paid (not 20%).
Example 3
You accept a payment arrangement from a debtor to pay $1,000 per week on a $10,000 debt. The rate of commission charged on each payment is 10%.
Vic Collect’s commission fee is not carried over into Court proceedings, UNLESS you have a costs clause allowing your commission to be added into the Claim amount. This means that you only pay the Court costs going forward and will not be charged any commission if a recovery is made. If you do have a costs clause, then your debt and the commission fee form the claim amount to be filed in Court.

Normally, no. You have engaged a third party to perform services for you. Your debtor is not a party to that engagement. HOWEVER, if you have a signed quote, agreement or credit application form which has been signed by your debtor and that quote, agreement or credit application contains the applicable debt collection costs clause, then YES, you may demand payment of your debt collection fees from a debtor.
Send us an email with your request and we will contact you to discuss how we can implement a “cost clause” for your business.
